Executive Director- David Bowman, Ph.D.
Dr. Bowman brings more than 35 years of fire protection experience to the Florida Fire Sprinkler
Association. He has served as Regional Manager for the National Fire Sprinkler Association- Great Plains
Region. Before coming to NFSA and the FFSA, he served as Assistant State Fire Marshal for Nevada and in
other positions at the Ohio State Fire Marshal's Office and as a city firefighter and paramedic. He is a U.S.
Coast Guard and U.S. Army Reserve Veteran.

Buddy Dewar was graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics
with concentration in Econometrics – quantitative economic analysis. Buddy Dewar also was graduated
from Nova Southeastern University with a MBA.He has a distinguished fire service career, which includes
working as a firefighter, fire officer, and fire chief, Superintendent of the Florida State Fire College, and
Director of Florida's State Fire Marshals Office. Buddy currently is serving as Director of the Regional
Operations for the National Fire Sprinkler Association.
